Books to share

In these few weeks I read a lot, I had spent times reading two books <我們仨>, <走到人生邊上> by 楊絳(1911——). She is a famous writer, critic, translator and scholar in China. She is now 98. She published <我們仨> when she was 92 and <走到人生邊上> at 96. Both are the personal sharing of her thinking and past memory of her daughter 錢媛 and husband 錢鐘書. Reading these two books I found she interested me in story, memory and history of the senior in the old generation. I will think of the life and story of my grand parents who lived in the period with war and political crisis. Their life should be challenge but romantic like the story in movie. The stories by old people are always seems dramatic but all are real, with love and precious to them. Think I start enjoying have the quick drawings by the painter-x. This is me in the combination of outfit /style I usually have in my daily life. Both weekdays and holidays.

My Practice - Corel Painter X

Today I try the Painter X together with the Wacom drawing board. I have my quick art-jamming at home tonight. Fun, I can try more art later any time. This practice inspired myself!

This is my first try, because I am not interested to use the drawing board before, but now I like it :)

My favorite blog

Decor8 is my favorite site, I will look into this site everyday when I am having my breakfast in the office. All the findings inspirit me. In Hk, people love beautiful and well design products, I hope the findings will help my friends who rarely looks into such design site got more information about the beautiful stuff / products worldwide.

Art on Paper

Here are the arts on paper I done a few months ago. The color details are created by the collage, I cut the pattern in the Non-no Japanese fashion magazine. I love the printing quality of the Japanese magazine, the colors are rich and sharp. Good idea try using waste materials to make arts on paper.

My Favourite Magazine

To start the blog, first I would like to recommend the Livingetc - the homes magazine for modern living. This is one of my favorite home decor magazine, and I love the Elle Decor Uk version, Inside Out and Domino too.
The official website of the Livingetc is wonderful too. http://www.livingetc.com/magazine/ Because it is really expensive to buy those overseas magazine in Hk, to save money I will visit the official site. I really enjoy looking into the Gallery http://www.livingetc.com/gallery/main.php, the categories are well organised from Hallways, living rooms, kitchen ..... bedrooms, outdoor living and storage. Worth to click inside.
